During the month of August 2020, NatuEra’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Colombia successfully completed its first export to the United Kingdom of hemp-derived CBD distillate, manufactured at its state-of-the-art, cultivation and GMP-designed extraction facility, strategically located 25 miles from Bogotá.
The shipment of hemp-derived CBD distillate, conducted under a non-controlled ruling issued by Colombia’s Narcotic Control Board, is to be used for R&D purposes as part of an ongoing study to collect toxicology data on CBD and gather safety information related to NatuEra’s novel foods application process.
“At NatuEra we firmly believe that the world’s hemp and cannabis-derived cannabinoid industry must be built on the cornerstone of safety and compliance. That’s why we’re committed to ensuring that our ingredients and products are safe and stable, under the highest scientific standards. The UK is one of the first countries to have set out a clear regulatory pathway for the use of CBD ingredients in food and dietary supplements and we are very excited to be a part of ground-breaking studies to demonstrate that CBD is safe for consumption in these categories”, noted Nicolas Nannetti, CEO of NatuEra.
As a producer of essential products with a comprehensive biosecurity protocol compliant with applicable regulations, NatuEra has remained operational throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
